We recently had the honour to collaborate with the Enercare Centre here in Toronto for its annual Collision Conference. The conference featured speakers such as Justin Trudeau, Seth Rogan, and John Tory. Over the course of the week, the impressive lineup of speakers took the stage to discuss topics that matter to Canadians and the world at large. AT Design Agency had the pleasure of designing and building a custom display for BMO for their Women in Tech lounge.
The purpose of the set design was to deliver a powerful message about the role of women in the field of technology. It also shone a light on BMO’s dedication to empowering women in STEM. Inspired by the BMO logo, our design concept was red, blue, and shades in between. What started as a 3D visualization ended up as an immersive experience in real life.
Our Conference Set Design Process
We had a clear idea of the stage’s setup, layout, and floorplan. And from there on out, conceptualization was nonstop. The AT Design Agency team worked hard to make a vision come to life. We first created a 3D layout of the BMO section, considering every aspect, from the attendees and open bar to centre stage.
Since this wasn’t our first corporate fabrication project, our team knew exactly what to do. Our work was punctual, meticulous, and precise, both in design and execution.
The stage structure consisted of four panes facing the back of the stage and 4 more facing the front, all branded with the BMO logo. The four front panes served as a backdrop for the panel of speakers who shared their words of wisdom with the audience.
Light It & Mirror It!
To make the backdrop stand out, we added LED lighting inside the front panes. The lights effectively illuminated the stage and gave the speakers the spotlight they deserved. We also installed a solid floor with a glossy finish, creating a mirrored effect for the front panels. Once lit, the display looked magical!
Moreover, corporate event design is never complete without drinks. Therefore, we replicated the same setup for the open bar located at the back of the BMO design booth. And because we’re a white-glove event planning service, we also installed flooring that embodied the BMO spirit and technology all in one.
As part of our event branding, we custom-built styrofoam decor that suspended from the ceiling. These decor pieces served as a compass that attendees could follow to quickly locate the BMO booth. It was big enough to be spotted from afar, and it did the job wonderfully.
In under three weeks, our team was able to construct the perfect corporate booth from A to Z. The stage setup was well-received by the event hosts and attendees alike. All in all, this project was an absolute success. Design, event management, and stage fabrication are our bread and butter, and we couldn’t be happier to have been part of an amazing event.
